Your Photoshoot
How much does a 1000 Pugs photoshoot cost and what’s included?
The sitting fee for a 1000 Pugs photoshoot is $50 ($10 from your sitting fee will be donated to pug rescue). The sitting fee goes to support this project and includes:
- 15 minutes of the photographer’s time & talent
- 3 professionally developed images in a private gallery
- free low-resolution digital download of your 3 images
Your pug will also appear in the 1000 pugs online gallery and is guaranteed a place in the 2013 book (images chosen by photographer). Prints and other premium products will be available for purchase at specially discounted prices.
Why is there a $50 sitting fee?
We don’t have a trust fund or endowment, so your $50 sitting fee is what makes this project possible. We’ve kept the amount as low as possible (‘industry standard’ for this type of mini portrait session is $75-$100) and if some wealthy pug-loving patron of the arts comes along and sponsors the project, the sitting fee will be the the first thing to go.
What if I have more than one pug?
Bring them all! The more pugs the better. Please note that the $50 sitting fee is per pug. Additional pugs from the same family will be asked to pay a separate sitting fee. Each pug will get 15 minutes in front of the camera; group shots of multiple pugs can be included in that time.
Why does each pug have to pay a sitting fee?
I’ve tried squeezing more than one pug into a 15 minute photoshoot and it’s just not enough time for the kind of pictures I take. Multi-pug families can use their time with me however they’d like, but I recommend doing a combination of solo and group shots.
Where do photoshoots take place?
Photoshoots will vary by location, but settings will include everything from natural settings (parks, beaches, etc.) to city streets. Descriptions will be provided for each location when announced.
What will my pug’s pictures be like?
Every pug is different, so it’s tough to say exactly what your pug’s pictures will be like. But we can say that photographer Amanda Bradshaw’s style is candid, vibrant and larger than life with a strong emphasis on connection. All images will be professionally developed to achieve maximum awesomeness.
Note: “traditional” posed portraits aren’t our style and “candid” does not mean snapshot.
What if my pug doesn’t cooperate?
Don’t worry, we have a way with dogs and more tricks than a pug.
Can I/my kids/our family be in the pictures?
We won’t say no, but it’s not encouraged. This project is about pugs, so very few human faces will make it into the book or online gallery.
What if it rains/the weather is bad?
Photoshoots will happen rain or shine. If it does rain the day of your shoot, put on your cutest rain boots, grab an umbrella and if your pug has a raincoat, bring that too. Rainy days are full of great photo ops!
What if I’m late for my pug’s photoshoot?
Don’t be late. Please, just don’t be.
Photoshoots will be scheduled in time slots and your pug will be the center of the 1000 pugs universe for his/her photoshoot. When your pug’s 15 minutes are over, someone else’s pug will get their 15 minutes. To be fair to everyone, we’re going to honor our schedule and ask you to do the same.
What does honoring the schedule mean? If you’re 10 minutes late, your pug will lose those 10 minutes. Don’t cheat your pug like that. Please be on time.
